Ukiyo-e, a traditional painting that Japan is proud of, developed as popular culture during the Edo period, and is known to have had a great influence on the Japonisme movement for Western paintings in the wake of the 19th century Paris Expo, and is often used as a tattoo motif. It is an expression method with a unique style of painting. The graphic of this work is a powerful pattern that depicts the brave appearance of Miyamoto Musashi, who pierces a fantasy creature, the mountain shark fish (Yamazame), with a spear and exterminates it. Using a historical figure famous as a swordsman, the design is unique to Japan and has a high affinity with the UNDEFEATED (undefeated, undefeated) philosophy.
