Suzume, a 17-year-old girl living in a quiet town in Kyushu, meets a young traveler, Sota, who says, “I’m looking for a door.
Following him, she wanders into an abandoned house in the mountains and finds an old door standing alone.
As if drawn by something, Suzume reaches for the door, but….

She is told that Sota has been traveling as a “closers” who closes and locks the door, as misfortune will come from the other side of the door.
Suddenly, a mysterious cat named Daijin appears in front of them.He says, “Sparrow, you have to clear out.
The next moment, he is transformed into a chair!
It is a small chair with one leg missing that Suzume used when she was a child.
Suzume hurriedly chases after Kusata, who runs off in the form of a chair with three legs to catch the fleeing Daijin.

Soon, doors begin to open one after another all over Japan.
Suzume’s “Locked Door Journey” takes her to Kyushu, Shikoku, Kansai, Tokyo, and other parts of Japan, guided by mysterious doors and a small cat.
What awaits Suzume at the place where she arrives, with the help of the people she meets on her journey, is a truth that has been forgotten.
