Captivating photos taken by Mika Ninagawa offer a different charm than on the ice

Yuzuru Hanyu will appear on the cover of the December 12 issue of AERA for the second time this year, in response to the huge response to the AERA special edition of “Yuzuru Hanyu: The Driving Force Behind His Breakthrough” released in October. The cover photo was taken by the magazine’s cover photographer, Mika Ninagawa. The studio photography, which is different from that on the ice, captures Hanyu in a new and fascinating way.

Yuzuru Hanyu’s collaboration with AERA has received a great response. In this issue, we present a cover and gravure featuring never-before-seen shots of Yuzuru Hanyu taken by Mika Ninagawa.
