The Boy and the Heron menangkan Best Motion Picture, Animated

Daftar lengkap pemenang Golden Glober Awards 2024 telah diumumkan pada Senin (08/01/2024) dari The Beverly Hilton Hotel, Los Angeles. Dan film animasi karya Studio Ghibli, The Boy and the Heron, berhasil memenangkan penghargaan Best Motion Picture kategori animasi.

Meskipun Hayao Miyazaki atau perwakilan dari Studio Ghibli tidak hadir untuk mengklaim penghargaan tersebut, namun hal ini menjadikan tonggak sejarah yang luar biasa bagi anime Jepang. Setelah sebelumnya hanya berada di tahap nominasi saja. The Boy and the Heron menjadi film anime pertama yang memenangkan penghargaan Best Motion Picture kategori animasi Golden Globe Awards.

Film yang ditulis dan disutradarai oleh Hayao Miyazaki ini berkisah tentang seorang anak laki-laki yang mengembara ke dunia misterius setelah kehilangan ibunya selama Perang Dunia kedua. Dirilis pertama kali di Jepang pada 14 Juli 2023.

Film ini mengalahkan film animasi lainnya seperti “Suzume” karya Makoto Shinkai, “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” dan “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse“.
